Engineering
System Integration – A system is an assembly of subsystems working together to ensure the system is able to deliver the overarching functionality to the end-user. In engineering, System integration (SI) is an engineering process used to join different subsystems into one large system. SI also ensures that each integrated subsystem functions as intended and required.
Systems integration has traditionally been a crucial specialty in the defense contracting industry. Proprietary, closed systems need to be upgraded and legacy hardware/software must be preserved within modern computing networks, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and hardware connection standards. MJLM provides system integration support on several Defense systems to include the Kiowa Warrior (OH-58), Bradley Fighting Vehicle System (BFVS), and Integrated Family of Test Equipment (IFTE) V3 and V5. To support these systems and others, MJLM performs system modifications and upgrades through customer-driven Maintenance Work Orders (MWO).
Prototype Development – MJLM provides engineering assistance and guidance to support our customer’s during the Concept Development / Requirements Analysis Phase of the Department of Defense (DoD) Total Lifecycle Logistics approach. Our past performance experience includes concept studies and analysis, requirements definition, evaluation of alternative technical approaches and associated cost/cost savings benefit for high level general performance specifications on a system or project.
Reverse Engineering – When the technical data packages (TDPs) are no longer available, MJLM disassembles the object to identify the item’s form, fit, and function to learn how it works and how to maintain, duplicate, modify and/or enhance the system/component/part in question. This process is known as Reverse Engineering. In support of MJLM’s reverse engineering services, we use 3D-Printing technology to reverse engineer US Army, Air Force, Marines, and National Guard assets who have obsolete or “hard-to-find” parts.
Obsolescence Management – Obsolescence occurs when an item is no longer developed and/or procured due to changes in platform requirements, insertion of new technology, end-user preferences, and/or the increased availability of alternative parts. MJLM analyzes, manages, and mitigates obsolescence by following a developed Obsolescence Management Approach.
Configuration Management – Configuration Management (CM) is a systems engineering process for establishing and maintaining consistency of a system/component/part’s performance, functionality, and physical attributes within the item’s requirements, design, and operation throughout its lifecycle. In support of our Defense customers, MJLM’s overall CM approach is based on military standards, guidance, and regulations such as “Military Handbook Configuration Management Guidance” (MIL-HDBK-61A (SE)) and “Configuration Management Requirements For Defense Contracts” (ANSI/EIA-649).
Quality Assurance – Quality Assurance (QA) represents the planned and systematic activities implemented in a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure quality requirements are fulfilled, prevent mistakes or defects in manufactured products, and avoid issues/problems when delivering solutions to customers. Simply put, quality assurance makes sure you are doing the right things, the right way! MJLM has implemented QA functions, controls, and procedures into our Quality Assurance Support Plan (QASP) to ensure all products and services MJLM delivers meets or exceeds our customer’s requirements.
Computer-Aided Design – MJLM uses Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to aid in the creation, modification, analysis, and/or optimization of a design. CAD software replaces the need for manual drafting with an automated, streamlined process. MJLM develops 3-Level Technical Data Packages (TDP) in support of various Government programs using software applications such as: AutoCAD®, MircoStation, and SolidWorks for 3D-modeling tasks.
